Prosperity Now! — Holiday Gratitude

Updated: Apr 19, 2023

I fell out of the habit of writing semi-regular blog-posts quite awhile ago, and have since regretted it. I strive to do things that uplift my own Spirit as well as those of my family, friends and others who might stumble across my website or my book, Prosperity Now! It’s not always easy….

With this brief entry, I hope to resume a regular habit of writing a bit about abundance and prosperity, my life and my continual search for deeper joy.

Part of my struggle is my character defect of perfectionism. I can’t write the perfect sentence, much less the perfect article or book, so why bother even starting?

What do I want to say? Do I have anything to say?

Often I don’t know until I start writing, and see what comes out of my fingers onto the screen of my computer.

It is in the uncertainty where Faith is likely to rear its beautiful face, giving me a glimpse of the Higher Energies, the subtle Forces that benevolently guide, guard, protect, inspire and animate our lives.

“With faith, we hold the power to shift possibilities into realities.”

— Rev. Robert Brumet Unity minister

Where there is no doubt, there is no need for Faith.

If I see the car in the driveway, I don’t need Faith to show me the certainty of its existence. Faith requires us to fill the void we “see” with the Reality of Spirit.

“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen”

— Hebrews 11:1

That defines Faith. Evidence! Substance! Faith is substantial.

One could argue that Faith is True Reality -- and the absence, lack, emptiness in physical reality, is the real illusion. If I can see past the illusion (which means not using the eyes of the body, but “Eyes of Faith”) then I will see clearly.

I started this with the title, “Holiday Gratitude” but as you can see, nothing about the holidays emerged. But a lot of Gratitude did. Between the lines.

An undercurrent of grateful energy for a few things.

  • That I started this writing

  • That I trusted I had something to say

  • For my computer, which is much easier to write on than my iPad

  • For the ideas of Faith, the understanding (limited as it is) of the process of moving from doubt to faith

  • For this beautiful (albeit rainy) Paris morning, with my FrenchPress coffee and the dogs sleeping after their breakfast

  • That I stuck to it, when the Wix blog program wasn't cooperating

  • And especially....

For the (my) Higher Power that (Whom) I can rely on, whenever I take a “leap of Faith” and put my fingers on the keys.

Bonne Dimanche (Good Sunday)

John
