If you listened to my talk at Unity Church in Albany, which is posted on my website and on the church’s website, you may have missed a quick “throw away” line I used at one point in the talk.
I said, “I’m in the third half of my life. Anyone who used to listen to Car Talk knows that they had the “third half of the show.””
I think it’s funny. I also think that it is a magical concept. To me it implies that we can have a “third act,” a third bite at the apple.
And if we can have three, we can (theoretically?? actually??) have an infinite number of chances to grow, to change, to improve, to get it right.
To me that is awesome. A Universe of infinite possibilities.
As some of you may know, after 60 years living exclusively in New York State, I picked up stakes and moved to Paris, France, where I sit even as we speak, writing this blog post, with my coffee and listening to Radio Deluxe.
Now, some people may think that they can’t have an Act Three.
Or that reinventing oneself isn’t easy.
Or that not everyone is “lucky” enough to get a third half of their life.
These people, they may not have a clear idea of what their new life could or would look like.
They may not have a clear idea of what they would like to have in their life.
They may not have a clear idea of what is possible.
They may think that tomorrow has to look like yesterday. That there’s no hope for change.
They may not even think about it, but just walk through their days as if on a treadmill.
They may be at a crossroads – the job is ending, the marriage is ending, the kids have left, their health has taken a turn for the worse, their finances have shifted, etc.
Whatever the immediate circumstances, the shadow of events may loom so large, seem so dark, that they may not have the awareness – that in life, in Spirit, with God – all things are possible.
You may not see clearly that the Life of Your Dreams is not only possible, it is absolutely necessary! It is vital that you fulfill your destiny and life your Best Life.
So here is your challenge:
Take an hour to sit with pen and paper and look carefully at your life and your life circumstances. Write down the things that are in it – in all areas of your life:
Emotionally
Mentally
Physically, including both physical health and the state of the “things” in your life.
Relationally (to the people in your life)
Financially
Spiritually
Certainly, pay some attention to the past, but focus mostly on this moment now.
And after you have a good picture of present circumstances, and some idea of how you got there, cast your eyes towards your future.
What do you see for you in your future, if anything?
Perhaps a better question is: What would you like to see?
Better health?
Easier financial circumstances?
Better relationships with family and friends?
Less worry.
More freedom.
Exciting creative endeavors.
A new career.
A new home.
A new body.
A new attitude.
All these and more, in greater and greater abundance can be yours for the asking….
Well…. For the asking and making some necessary changes – inner changes and outer changes.
Inner changes almost always must come first, for the outer changes to be real and lasting and powerful.

Mindset Makeover:
This is a one-on-one program designed to broadly identify a number of goals in several areas of your life, recognize and address limiting beliefs and create sustainable action plans.
I will work with you to pinpoint key areas that are holding you back from creating the Life of Your Dreams by clarifying your life mission and vision, developing your life motto so that you have clear direction and clear steps to achieve your goals.
The Mindset Makeover package includes two 40-minute coaching sessions per week, regular accountability check-ins, weekly tasks to complete and a monthly review/stock-taking session to evaluate progress and recalibrate goals and strategies.
The cost is $550/500 € per month for 3 months, or $450/400 € for a 6-month program.
