What is Prosperity, Anyway?

Updated: Apr 19, 2023

Often, people automatically think “money” or “wealth” when they think about prosperity and abundance. Finances are a part of prosperity, of course. And in Prosperity Now! we certainly spend time in the realm of money (which is, like all things, really a spiritual energy).

We work with money because the world attaches so much baggage, fear, and importance to money.

But true prosperity involves so much more than money. Just focusing on finances will cheat you out of a full life and all the good the Universe has in store for you, and that you deserve.

The thesaurus’ synonyms for “prosperity” are “flourishing, successful, affluent, thriving, wellness, expansion, luxury, opulence, plenty, health, fortune, wholeness, etc.”

Money is merely our vehicle to rocket us into a higher plane of consciousness — of peace, serenity, ease, joy, happiness, usefulness to others, and most of all, a deeper spiritual life.

Getting more money without an increase in spiritual gifts — like love, compassion, generosity, forgiveness, patience, serenity, or other “fruits of the Spirit”— is, at best, a hollow victory. At worst, it can be a curse. Anyone who watches the news regularly can tell you about seemingly wealthy people who are very unhappy, and who end up destroying their lives.

True prosperity encompasses a wealth (pun intended) of things that make our time on this planet joyous and complete. Some of the things you will want to include in your prosperity are:

  • A functional, loving family

  • An abundance of good friends

  • Joyous employment or other productive activities

  • Good physical, mental, and emotional health

  • A spirit of generosity

  • Peace of mind (serenity)

  • Healthy, healing laughter

  • Helping to create a better world

  • An abundance of love from Source—and from the many channels of supply

What are your ideas of a joyous, prosperous, abundant, full life? What makes your heart sing? Make a list of all the things you believe will fufill your soul’s longings, for love, for health, for vibrancy, for peace and solace and friendship and purpose.

These things are yours for the asking — when you begin to open up to a wider view of a prosperous future, one that can start whenever you choose — in the Now!

Love and Blessings,

John
